An award badge can catch your eye on a bottle, but a medal becomes much more useful once you know where it came from and when it was earned. Tiburon Rum has a documented competition record stretching from its early years through Gold medals in San Francisco in 2019 and 2021.
For Tiburon Rum, those medals sit alongside a distinct Belize story. The rum is handcrafted at a family-owned distillery near the Caribbean Sea, with an identity shaped by adventure, warm-climate maturation, and the place where its founders decided to make their rum.
Start With the Two San Francisco Gold Medals
The easiest entries in Tiburon Rum’s award record to remember are the Gold medals from the San Francisco Spirit Competition in 2019 and 2021. They give you two specific pieces of recognition from the same established competition, separated by two years.
That is more useful than seeing “award-winning” on its own. You can attach the claim to a named competition, medal level, and year, then place that recognition beside everything else you know about the bottle.
San Francisco also appears earlier in Tiburon Rum’s history. The official award record includes a Silver Medal from the San Francisco Spirit Competition in 2017 and a Bronze Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2014.
Taken together, those results show Tiburon Rum returning to the San Francisco judging stage at different points in its history. The two later Gold medals are therefore part of a longer record rather than isolated appearances.
Best in Class Adds Another Kind of Recognition
Gold is easy to understand, but Tiburon Rum’s record also includes Best in Class honors. In 2017, Tiburon Rum received Best in Class at the Miami Rum Festival “Rum XP,” alongside its San Francisco Silver that same year.
A year earlier, the record lists Best in Class at the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America show, as well as Gold medals from the Miami Rum Festival and Bar Biz Magazine Spirit Competition.
